Country of Origin: Surabaya
White Pomfret has a light texture and sweet, rich flavour. It has a high content of good fats, thereby getting the name, butterfish. It is a great source of calcium, vitamins A and D, and B vitamins, including Vitamin B12, vital for the nervous system. It also offers iodine, critical for the thyroid gland.
INTERESTING FACT ABOUT POMFRET:
The bigger the pomfret is, it is most costly as the meat is considered more flavourful and it is great for banquets.
Small sized pomfret is recommended for family of 2-3.
Medium sized pomfret is recommended for family of 3-5.
Large or Extra-Large sized pomfret is recommended for family of 4-6.
